I chose this apartment because I previously rented another apartment with the same leasing company and this is only one of two properties with parking. Unfortunately, there are only five parking spaces for this property and despite being told that there was a short waiting list upon moving in, months later Im told there is no waiting list and to create one would be a hassle for the management company. (Dont expect much help from the management office)
You honestly are getting what you pay for here. The price of the apartment is relatively cheap and because of that the walls are SUPER THIN. Speaking in a normal voice, I can hear my neighbors conversations and television no matter where I am in the apartment. Theres hardwood floors in the main area, but mine are so scuffed up and poorly refinished that you can see the excess polish build up all over the floor. I was fortunate enough to get brand new carpet on move in so no issues there.
You DO get a washer and dryer in unit and full size appliances (including a microwave)so thats a bonus. Its also a small walking distance from three bus lines so if you dont have a car you can get around easily. (Street parking hasnt been too hard to find either.)
You can definitely find better in the area.
(Also dont choose an apartment on the first floor... just dont.)
The inside of the unit has a great first impression. We chose this place because it had w/d in unit and central heat and air at a good price, however I can see now why.
1) most of the people on my floor are psychiatric patients heavily medicated and require 24/7 supervision.
2) the carpet in the bedroom is cheap and old and had a large stain when we moved in
3) I've had a recurrent issue for three months now where the carpet in my closet and bedroom are soaked with water. They "fixed it" four times but it keeps happening.
4) The surrounding green areas are covered in dog feces and management does nothing to clean it or make residents clean after their dogs.
There are many other nice places in West Ridge and Chicago, DO NOT rent with CLK Property management.
