The Wheatlands has been an awesome place to call home. The apartments are spacious, reasonably-priced, and safe. The office staff is super kind and even remembers me when I come by. Maintenance is also great, and they even wear cloth booties to protect your carpet. I'd recommend it highly if you're considering moving to the northwest suburbs!
The service team is very personable and knowledgeable, the pricing is very reasonable, the apartments are in lovely, and the amenities are stellar, and the payment and maintenance systems are easy to use.
The place is nice (hence the one star).
Now the cons
2) Premium charged in my rent for good view but the view is blocked by a big tree. No sun but more rent
3) We stayed for 8+ years. On each lease renewal, the lease is adjusted to end on sunday after 1 year. In 8 years, it moved by 7 weeks
4) We had to move out of state, 40 days before our lease ended. Despite staying for 8+ years, there was no consideration for not charging rent for the 40 days. In effect, we paid 40 days of rent without staying (despite giving 75 days notice)
5) We kept that apartment in clean condition. Still, we were charged $225 for kitchen counter-top for normal wear and tear color fading. Again, the logical explanation that it is natural in 8 years fell in deaf ears
Nice apartment to live
Well it's been almost 7 years since I've moved in at the Wheatlands and it's like owning a home without the problems. Anything you need done or repaired which is rare the complex takes care of it. It's peaceful and and convenient being so close to the highway. What a great place to live
