The Wheatlands has been an awesome place to call home. The apartments are spacious, reasonably-priced, and safe. The office staff is super kind and even remembers me when I come by. Maintenance is also great, and they even wear cloth booties to protect your carpet. I'd recommend it highly if you're considering moving to the northwest suburbs!

The positive: My apartment was very nice and the management was very helpful when I was living there. The meh: The wall are thin and I could hear all my neighbors loud conversations. My chief complaint is that although I paid an extra $200-300 a month to extend my lease and paid everything on time, including two weeks I was not even living there because I moved out early. I turned the keys in early and realized I forgot something so I went back and they had already changed the locks. I left the apartment in pristine condition. Had no pets or small children and hung nothing on the walls. I cleaned, vacuumed and threw out all the garbage. I am still waiting for my final statement and security deposit almost 2 months after I moved out. It's over 5 weeks past my official move out date. I tried twice to get an update and was told they had until July 4 to process my paperwork. As of the mail on July 11, still have not received anything. I sent another email asking for an update and have gotten no response. I realize that I have moved out but it's short sighted and not very good business practice. I never had any complaints, paid on time, left a super clean apartment, moved out early and this is the the thanks I get?

Do expect a better amenities for the price paid for rentals. Parking is a big issue and given the size of community playing area for kids and related options are very limited. Virtually none option to park bicycle and taking that in and out of apartment for every use especially for someone staying on 1 and 2nd floor is terrible. parking overall also is an issue as there's no marking for the blocks or stickers on the cars and coming late night and looking for parking is a huge challenge.

Great staff! Been here over 6 yrs and never had a problem with anyone in the office/maintenance (fast service & know what to do to fix things). It's a nice place with nice neighbors for the most part. Kids playing in the area between buildings gets really loud and I can't open my patio door all spring-fall with them out there or can't hear anything else. They ought to play away from the buildings or over by the playground. That's why good instead of excellent.
