I have been living at Southland Station for 2 years. The management has recently changed and is slowly declining. The rent has gone up (in the middle of a lease) and when I have asked management they couldn't explain why. I went 2 weeks ago to turn in my 60 day notice. The stated that a letter needed to be written which I did and also that a form needed to be completed by management stating if they approved or disapproved the move out but neither representative wanted to sign the paperwork.
I have been here in the apartment complex for close to 4 years. The experience has been overwhelming from constant problems with the heating, cooling, constant sink leaking and other issues..... the water main breaks during the winter (resulting in no water) for up to 8 hrs. The cabinets are falling apart, constant plumbing issues throughout the years. Oh, and the thing that upsets me the most is that I have been the longest tenant within this section and my rent is continuously going up.
I was beyond ready to move out of here. If pest wasn't a large enough motivator the lack of help from the office staff was. I knew it was only one person on the office that seemed to have a clue and was helpful. Even with smaller things, the woman at the front would be useless or cause more harm than good. I'm sure she tried, but I knew of the manager wasn't there, I might as well wait until he returned or left a Email or message from him to take care of.
When I did the walk-thru, I took pictures of all that was wrong, that could be turned into a work order to be fixed. One major problem, I had to clean my apartment before I could move in, It was so nasty in here. when I enclosed that to the leasing officer I was brushed off. I also did not understand why I was paying the upgraded rate, but all appliances are white but my stove. Oh hoodvent is white as well. When I asked for them to be changed out I was told no. I was treated good until my lease
Repairs were not made promptly, pest control was a joke, and the price jumped by a $250 after supposed upgrade ei.. new paint job, was done.
