This place promises more than they deliver. Management and some of the office staff are rude and unprofessional. They claim to be "luxury" apartments because of their granite countertops and saltwater pool. There were several amenities we were told we would have, including a gated community and large dog park. The dog park quickly deteriorated after we moved in and turned out to be a large patch of dirt with holes, and was not maintained. The gate was broken for a large portion of the time we resided there. They said it was because of lightening striking it. However, they seemed in no rush to ever get it fixed. They constantly gave notices for apartment inspections but would not give a specific date they were coming to your apartment, nor would they leave a notice if they had already come into your apartment. Walls are paper thin. No insulation- you hear everything. We commonly had trash piled up by the dumpster.
After we moved out, we were given absurd charges for "damages", which included over a hundred dollars for a full bedroom paint for just wear and tear. When I brought up concerns to management, I was brushed off and given passive responses.
We love the apartment, the grounds, the area but, mostly the feeling of home and good friends. The "staff" are our friends and family also.
They dont have a playground for children so no where for them to play and dogs poop any and everywhere and the gates have been broken for months now. The clubhouse doors doesnt lock at night and some parents dont control they kids.
I've lived in better places. I didn't do my proper research before I moved in(which was my fault) and I regretted it almost immediately. Don't let the newness fool you! There are plenty of other places in pooler that are just as nice/less expensive/and that have less kids running around.
A few things you should know before moving in:
- APARTMENT INSPECTIONS. I felt like I was back in college with the number of times they gave us notices that they were going to "inspect" our apartments. In a period of 2 months they came in 5 times.. FIVE. They also didn't leave a notice or anything to let us know when/if they had actually come in. All their inspection notices gave us this window of days, so it would have been nice to know if they were done inspection or what.
- WAY too many kids. The pool area is not relaxing at all. It's basically a public dirty pool. They will also carelessly ride their bikes and play in the parking lot, which is dangerous in itself.
-It says it is a no smoking community (which is one of the reasons I signed), but don't kid yourself. They don't do anything to the people who smoke on the patio. There is one family that does it right beside the pool and they do nothing to stop it.
- NOT energy efficient. If you do decide to move in make sure you have them check the weathering strips. Big gaps in my door that lets bugs and warm air in. ALSO in your living room you will notice this white vent. Well if you take off that cover it is legit a HOLE to the outside. Ever since I covered it up I can tell a difference in my living room staying cool.
- Their gym is 24 hours which is great! Usually pretty clean but sometimes the machines don't work and the sound system NEVER works. Still nice though!
-I can hear a simple conversation through my walls. No insulations. You will probably get that at lots of apartments though.
The location is a plus! It is on the other side of Benton BLVD so thankfully you do not have to get on pooler parkway.
