I've lived here in a 1 bedroom for 3 years and I really like the area and community, I even gave them a 5 star review after my 1st year here. However, I'm extremely disappointed with the new management. 1st - After paying my January rent I received a call from someone in the office stating my lease will be ending January 22nd and they were raising my rent $200. I asked why I'm just now getting notice because in the past I've always received a notice 90 days before my lease ends which gives plenty of time to decide if they want to renew. She agreed to extend my rent at the current rate until March 15th but my rent was still going up $200 because of "Corporate" and there's nothing she can do about it. I went into the office & requested to speak to the property manager and was told there's no property manager on site and I have to email "Corporate". I emailed "corporate" and never heard back from anyone. I went back 2 the office to discuss my rent jumping $200 dispite no upgrades. The leasing manager went to the back to call "corporate" and came back and said they were still raising the rent the same amount but offered 1 of 3 upgrades (ceiling fan or a new light fixture in either the kitchen OR bathroom) and they said they'd clean my carpet (which they should be doing anyway). I asked for the # for "corporate" and said I had to email them. I said I already emailed them and never heard back so she forwarded my email again. I'VE NEVER HEARD OF A COMPLEX NOT HAVING A PROPERTY MANAGER ON SITE TO SPEAK TO. I went for TWO months last year with NO air conditioning during the 2 hottest months of the year July and August. I asked them to clean my carpet for the 1st time in 3 years back in November and they left a note saying they'll clean the carpet "upon lease renewal". They were supposed to unclog my bathroom sink in December and they claimed they did but it was still clogged. My brother purchased an unclogging tool and was able to remove a lot of debris.
We moved in October 10, 4 days ago, and so far our expectations have been completely crushed. The apartment has a broken window which according to office management was supposed to be fixed prior to us moving in...not fixed yet so we have the main front window completely open. One of the stove burners does not work, one of the air ducts in the bathroom is missing the filter, so its just a big hole in the ceiling. The hot water in the kitchen sink is not working and the handles dont seem to be working properly. One of the tubs clogged up on the second day and the porch above us has a big hole so they can completely see us below. Very disappointed that they would release an apartment like this. They should of taken extraordinary measures to assure themselves that the apartment was move in ready. Will keep waiting to see how much longer it takes them to fix...based on the reviews, Ill be waiting till December.
I am still living in this apartment for 6 year's, and all the mentainance was very nice and friendly and do the job fast with no arguments but today and after a whole month waiting for them to fix my moldy restrooms and my leaking restrooms and dining room ,the mentainance came and while I was explaining to him (my kids get sick of the mold) he said I am not a doctor and I am not a cleaner and he opened the door and he left nervous.
Horrible, old community, needs to be condemned.
