Some colleges and universities distinguish themselves through their ties to history, and Reinhardt University in Waleska, Georgia, is a prime example. The school was founded in 1883 by Augustus M. Reinhardt is affiliated with the United Methodist Church and has been since its inception. It was the Methodists who helped Reinhardt begin the school by sending several teachers in the early days of the institution. The school began as "Reinhardt Academy," but slowly expanded in size to a full-fledged institution of higher learning.

Today, students come from far and wide to rent college apartments in the Waleska area and attend this liberal arts university. The school offers courses of study in more than 40 different disciplines, along with the traditional aspects of student living like fraternities, clubs and sports teams.
