What Renters Like and Dislike About Pembroke

It's an older neighborhood with a mix of older and newer homes. I like HEB, the grocery store near me. I like ATown, Billy's on Burnet, and Top Notch.

My neighborhood is made up of a diversity of people and families. It is near several good restaurants as well as grocery and other stores.

I love that my neighborhood has come together to save various neighborhood favorite spots. There is a creek nearby that was going to be filled in, but instead, the residents built framework around it to keep it safe, added access stairs & trails by it so it was safe, clean & not an issue. There is also a bar nearby that was going to close, but several residents banded together to become part owners & it's now remained open for years since. There's a small grocery store (Arlan's) that is so convenient, and a deli right by that. I love going over to Thunderbird coffee nearby & to The Mediterranean Chef. We're also regulars at the corner store, a Valero owned by two brothers.

I like being close to a school with a park, swimming pool, and walking trail. I also like being in walking distance from a grocery store and several restaurants.

I love the fact that it is n extremely friendly and social neighborhood. There is almost zero crime ( that I am aware of) and everyone is very cordial. Even strangers wave from their cars as they pass by!
