It's a very nice and quiet place to stay.
I have been a resident for 3 years and have been very happy overall with my apartment. The community is safe, comfortable, and clean. Over the last year, it has improved ALOT. The staff we currently have is AWESOME and stays on top with everything!
There are no words for what I went through while living at Rutland Aprtments. First, the property is NOT what it appears to be online. The pools are filthy and never open, it took a year of begging to get even one working machine in the gym, its an unsafe environment and the office staff is HORRIBLE. A man was shot and nearly killed at the apartment complex during my stay. The staff did not address the situation, forced the news off the property to try to keep it covered up, and word is it was drug related which is not hard to believe because drug baggies can be found throughout the property. I went to the office to pick up a package on my birthday, it was withheld because of a fine that was apparently on my account which I had not been notified about. They claimed I had to pay a fine because I did not have renters insurance, but I did. The staff just failed to check the paperwork. That was just one of multiple fines with no backing that I was forced to pay. After my mail was withheld, not delivered or delivered damaged on multiple occasions, the office staff decided to bribe me with a Kroger gift card instead of taking real action. In another instance, I was forced to call the police after multiple people were gathered outside of my apartment, drinking, smoking, and sitting on my car. Dispatch said since I had an officer in my complex he should arrive within minutes. I had to call 911 two more times, wait over an hour for the officer to finally arrive, and then watched him wave on the group once he arrived before driving off. I brought this to the attention of the office staff, once again my concerns fell on deaf ears. Last but not least, after paying an outrageous amount of money for unsafe living conditions (after the shooting), I decided to leave the lease early. I was told it would cost me over $2,000 and would affect my credit score. Finally I was told I would receive the majority of my $250 deposit back. I just received a check for $5.
I came home from work last week at 4:30pm, and found out my fridge had gone out. I told the assistant property manager, and got home at 6pm to nothing being done. I called the emergency number and the next day while I was at work, a fridge was placed it my apartment. It was dirty on the inside, dented and rusted on the outside, and makes this loud humming and buzzing noise. Also, I still do not have screens on my sliding door or some windows.
I rated the complex as I did because I am not satisfied with inability to have a choice in my cable provider and also the lack of community grills around my building. Being that part of the amenties list include community grills, I find it upsetting that I do not have access grills nor am I supposed to have my own personal one.
