My wifes company has experience working with apartment management teams for clients. When her parents moved here while recovering from some medical issues, we were grateful for its proximity to her moms daycare. The unit had nice bathrooms and kitchens. The location is conveniently close to Buford Hwy restaurants and stores. However, when a plumbing leak flooded their unit, they were treated combatively. Customer service was poor and response was slow. The complex did not replace the carpet or padding. They air dried it for a week & a half while my in-laws stayed in a hotel. The office also passed the $300 extra electric charges from the blowers to my in-laws. They then charged other fees. The carpet still had a slight mildew smell. The pool was attractive, but closed the entire summer only to open in September.
I'm new to the area, looking for nice, clean area near shopping.
Don't get an apartment here for the amenities, because they won't be available. Management takes a long time to resolve issues.
Let me start off by saying that the apartment I was given was not the apartment shown to me in February 2016. Lets just say this began a horror of experiences while living at Atlantic Brookhaven. The power in the apartment consistently went out in my living room & kitchen throughout my year of being there causing my groceries to constantly spoil. I notified mateinence & all they do is leave notes saying they changed the breaker, but clearly that didnt fix the problem. The apartment would be having mandatory inspections meaning ppl would enter my apartment while my alarm would be set, mind you when you first sign your lease they ask for your alarm code. The police would show up thinking someone broke in the apartment & warned me the third time that if it happened again I would be charged. I also referred my friend & when he got in his apartment there were roaches in his sink. Finally today, I go to the leasing office to turn in my keys, we go for a walk through & the gentleman who works in the leasing office stated that the apartment needed to be professionally cleaned & it was in my contract. I reviewed my contract & advised that nowhere did it state that it needed to be professionally cleaned. I asked them to show me where it stated that & him nor the manager could show where it stated that. If it needed to be professionally cleaned thats not something you notify a person the day of them handing over the keys. ALSO, they changed management but never notified the tenants. You can never get in touch with the leasing office via phone when you need too & this is prior to the mateinance room having an electrical fire. Lol. I wouldnt suggest anyone living here. Its definitely not even worth the money.
Things were good at first. After moving in I had roaches and they didn't not go away after multiple sprays. Only after multiple people in my building moved out. There were multiple car break ins during my lease. On move in I was supposed to have an upgraded apartment but my dish washer was not secured and almost fell on my leg, electrical outlets did not work and my bathroom tub was painted as a result it is hard to clean( the paint just comes off ). I could deal with it UNTIL the management changed. Be aware they do not give ANY notice around your lease ending then will charge you to finish out the 60 day requirement. They NICKLE and DIME you! It is not worth the price. Try your luck somewhere else.
