I moved in almost two months ago now and from the day I toured the apartment for the first time the property manager, Elise, was extremely accommodating and friendly. The location is amazing and there is onsite maintenance which makes it really easy if you have any issues. I wish I could give a 6 star rating but 5 stars will have to do. I am absolutely loving my new place.
This place is awful. There is a big problem with bed bugs and rats in the building. Management is untruthful and unprofessional---doesn't do much to get rid of serious problems of noise, roaches, bed bugs, and rats.
Pros: Its the cheapest place for miles around, and honestly the place isnt in that bad shape considering the price. The neighborhood is fantastic with good access to Marta, groceries, restaurants, shopping, etc.
Cons: I expected the old, beat-up walls, cabinets and drawers that are falling apart, funky smells that keep coming back, and the occasional cockroach. I honestly dont mind that much that the shower temperature is always oscillating between icy cold and scalding hot. What I cannot handle is the persistent and pervasive noise issues in my unit. Living on the ground floor, sound from the pool area enters my unit virtually uninhibited. This wouldnt be so much of an issue, except that many of the other tenants like to party, sing, yell and play music in the commons area most nights of the week (4-5 nights a week), often starting as early as 4pm and going until 1-3am (despite the fact that community rules say the pool is closed after 11pm). When I asked them to turn their music down, they verbally harassed me until I left. Management seems disinterested in lowering the level of noise, and suggested that I buy earplugs if the noise bothered me. Ive tried hanging a heavy curtain and turning on a loud fan to try to drown out the noise, but this is often insufficient. When my family and friends visit, they are often appalled that this level of noise is permitted, and it makes me embarrassed and anxious about ever inviting anyone to my place. The noise regularly interrupts my ability to study, watch TV, or just generally use my living room or kitchen. I have lived next to frat houses and in other apartments in the area and never encountered this level of noise before. If you dont have a HIGH tolerance for noise, I would suggest giving your other options a closer look. I sure wish I did.
For the location and the price, you can't beat it! I have been living here for a couple of months, and so far, I love it! The building is a bit older and that brings some issues, but the maintenance and office staff are always friendly and quick to respond to such issues. I also like the community feel of this place, which is hard to find these days with all the new highrise buildings. All my neighbors are great and the management works very hard! The pool is nice too!!!
Love the location and the community. Management is always responsive and helpful. Older building, but a great place to live.
