What Renters Like and Dislike

What Renters Like and Dislike About Venice

It is in a very Convenient location. Close to schools, police, fire depth, YMCA and other fitness facilities. We have nice neighbors who all care about their property and keep it well maintained.

My neighborhood is close to downtown and 2 miles to the beach. Gas station and grocery store is in walking distance. Bogeys restaurant is excellent and cvs is across the street from me

All About

Living in Venice, FL

A small city located in Florida, Venice has approximately 22,000 residents. It's a nice place to settle down, as retirees make up a greater percentage of the population (58%) here than they do nationally (14%), while young adults feature less prominently in the demographics. With an average age of just under 62, the city's residents skew notablyolder than most cities in Florida. Home ownership is more common than renting in Venice, and 24% of residents rent. Relatively high rent costs may be a factor, as the average rent of $1,255 a month is substantially higher than the state average of $1,153.

With an average commute time of about 25 minutes, outperforming most cities in the state, Venice residents are well aware that traveling to work isn't overly time-consuming. Many residents (24%) drive themselves to work, while public transportation is not widely used. Biking is the second-most preferred way to get to work, selected by 1% of commuters. Few residents walk to work.

With an average annual income of just over $70,000, Venice workers earn a little more than their peers elsewhere in Florida. The city's average income, however, is nearly on par with the national average of $73,345. Venice has a large number of residents over the age of 25 with advanced degrees compared to the national average (7%), as 12% possess a Master's or a Doctoral degree. Furthermore, 20% have earned a Bachelor's degree, which also outpaces the national average.
