TL;DR: Do NOT live at Seminole Grand. They THREW OUT ALL OF MY STUFF. They care a lot more about making money than respecting and caring for the students who live there. Longer review: I lived at Seminole Grand Apts last year and I had signed a lease to live here, in the *same* apartment, again this year. My previous lease ended on 7/31/19 and my new lease starts on 8/16/19. It did not make sense to move everything out, then move it all back in 2 weeks later, so I packed up all my stuff in boxes and bags and a suitcase. I stacked everything neatly in the corner of the apt common area. I emailed the manager about this on 8/4/19. The only things I took with me were the things that I would immediately need during those 2 weeks in which I lived in an airbnb. On 8/16, move-in day, I enter that apartment and see that my stuff is not there. I go to the front office and talk to the manager. It turns out that they had THROWN OUT ALL OF MY STUFF! What in the world? I talk/debate with the manager for 1 hour. I want financial compensation for my thrown out stuff. That was not possible. He added that I would be charged for that stuff left in the apartment which they threw away. Basically, they wanted me to pay for the fact that they threw out my stuff! Can you believe it? I said no way! So not only are you not going to compensate me for all my stuff you threw away, but you're also going to make me pay you to throw it away??? CRUEL and DEHUMANIZING. He said that I didn't have any association with the apt during the 2 weeks between my leases. He said that they were cleaning the apt to get it ready for the new leasing season coinciding with the beginning of the new school year, and so they had to throw everything away. I told him that they had my leasing information, that I had just lived there and was moving back in just 2 weeks later. I moved-in today. I had a horrible experience and am very very upset. I was crying. I just texted my sister telling her what happened, and told she me that she felt so angry just reading my texts about what happened. So I lived here last year. Last spring, I signed a lease for a different bedroom in the *same* apartment. So basically I moved out of apartment 2234 on July 31, 2019 and would move back into the *same* apartment on August 16, 2019. Because I would be moving right back into the same apartment just 2 weeks later, it did not make sense to move everything out just to move everything right back in 2 weeks later. Moving is very demanding and labor-intensive. So, my mom and I packed up all my stuff, into boxes and bags and a suitcase. We stacked those boxes and bags and that suitcase (along with a stand-up lamp, an office chair etc) neatly in the corner of the front hallway in the common area of the apartment. We covered everything up with a clear tarp. It was clear that someone had put thought and effort towards this stack of packed up stuff covered with a tarp. The only things that I took with me were the things that I would need while living in an airbnb for those 2 weeks (e.g. phone, wallet, laptop, some clothes, cooking stuff etc). On Aug 4, 2019, I emailed the manager (J Diggs) letting him know about my packed up stuff inside the apartment. No reply. Today, move-in day, I enter that apartment and see that my stuff is not there. I go to the front office and talk to the manager (J. Diggs). It turns out that they had THROWN OUT ALL OF MY STUFF!!! What in the world??? I talk/debate with the manager for 1 hour. I want financial compensation for my thrown out stuff. He told me that was not possible. These apartments are a very very shady. All i can say is run far away for here. Me and my family which consists of my husband and two daughter came to view the apartments on March 2019 for out girls for summer term. The leasing agent advise us there was nothing for the summer available. In the mist of our conversation some how fall was interjected. We left there office not knowing they had sent my daughter a lease on her phone for fall semester she taped it and signed it (uneducated in criminals). I received a text and we turned around and came back to the apartment complex ( in 20 minutes) and the managers said she had to move in the Fall. Even though Myself and my husband was there and were not under the impression she was sent a lease to her phone. They held her to the lease even though the representative Nicole said she didn't mean to send a lease that someone in the back Megan approved it unannounced to her. The management said there was nothing could be done she had to move in even though she didn't have an Guarantor. Because i refused to sign with people that were so unethical. My daughter start receiving calls she needed a guarantor or $1000 which she didn't have and management said she had to move in, which she was willing to do. Now fast forward my daughter scabbed around to try to find a guarantor and my older daughter completed the application. My older daughter has never been approved for an apartment in her life and was able to be approved here with a criminal background,eviction,judgment and release from probation in 2015(for 2 battery convictions) and make $8.00 an hour working 20 hours a week and has a child. Please be careful because anyone can live in these apartments do not believe the qualifications there saying you must have, they will let anyone live next to you and with your child. I will be continue to let everyone know for the next three years my daughter is there about this apartments bad practices. I am planing a peaceful rally to

I will NEVER refer or suggest anyone to stay at this complex. The people who work in the office are rude and inconsiderate. They will ignore your emails and messages especially if you moved out and trying to fix an issue. Dont worry about filling out the roommate matching sheet because they throw anybody in your apartment. Just because they say college apartments you dont have to be a college student to stay there. They charge for everything. If you want to park in front of your building you have to pay. They made every parking spot thats in front reserved and if no one pays for them and you park there they threaten to have you towed. They only care about the money they dont care about your experience. They treat you like you are not paying them you cant do anything in your unit. Staying in the dorm is better then staying here.
