55 West is a great location and has awesome units and amenities! I'm always able to get in contact with the leasing staff during office hours which is very important to me. The pool and gym are fun places to hang out!
Stay away!!! Some of the units are nice but its not worth it. Of the 7 elevators in the building there is usually only one working at a time. In the last 6 months there havent been more than two elevators working at a given time and the operating certificates are more than a year expired. An average wait for an elevator is 20-25 min. Trying to take the stairs is also not an option, as the doors are locked from the inside leaving those who do choose to take the stairs trapped in the stairwell. If your household has more than one car its $180 for a second parking space in a public garage and most likely not the garage attached to the building as there is a waiting list for public spots in the pine street garage. The roads around the building close every weekend so its impossible to get in or out by car. There is also a growing number of homeless individuals that are living in the lobby and stairwells. Management has made no efforts to remedy any of these situations. There are many locations to live downtown, any of them would be better than 55 West.
Excellent place to live!
Don't walk! RUN! This place is horrible. Elevators don't work, when they do they smell of vomit, pot or dog urine. The entry doors don't work and are the dog park zone for owners who have no respect. The front entry is basically a homeless camp where you're begged for food and money immediately each time you come and go. You can't park in the parking, 1. because it's also the parking for every major event downtown and .2 because it's run by lazy and slow city parking workers. Car broken into, broken garbage chutes, the problems go on and on and on.
Then maintenance staff is nice and offers advice when there is an issue
