RE: Apt. 202
I have relinquished my keys this morning. I will not be returning.
When I rented apt. 202 three years ago, I was told that I was getting a "special deal" because this apt has not been renovated. In fact, I was shocked at what bad shape this apt was in, but figured that for $950.00/mth I could deal with it. Also, the previous tenant had left it filthy, and management had not seen fit to get it cleaned.
To my shock, EVERY YEAR I have been here, my rent has been raised astronomically, and yet management has not made ONE improvement or upgrade to this apt.
From day one:
The carpet is old, matted, and spotted with both dark and light stains from the previous tenant and his dog. Nothing I can do can make it look presentable.
The sink fixtures in both the bathroom & kitchen are old & crumbling
The bathtub/shower control is old, and frequently falls off
The countertops & cabinets are old, cheap, and ugly
The blinds are old,cheap, bent/broken in places
Unlike other apartments in this complex, I only have a ceiling fan in the bedroom.
No other apt in Naples has such cheap decrepit fixtures/carpet/cabinets/countertops/blinds AND has the gall to charge the high rent your company charges me. And you wanted to increase it by $100.00 starting next month?! Frankly, you must think I'm an idiot.
I have mentioned these issues repeatedly (and they should be evident to management during the inspections) and yet the only change is a sharp increase in rent every year.
Your company needs to be realistic - if you want someone to pay $1,245.00/mth, you need to (at the very least) rip out the carpet and replace the fixtures/cabinets,blinds. Even then, the truly hideous countertops and lack of ceiling fans may be dealbreakers.
Extremely old building. Severe structural damage, with a lot of cosmetic damage still remaining from hurricane Irma almost 5 months ago. It took over 3 months to get outside lighting in our building, and nobody seemed to care. Very dangerous situation. They continually spend a crazy amount of time and money fixing and remodeling stuff that nobody cares about (front office and laundry area?) while blatantly ignoring simple Maintenance requests from residents. Nothing gets fixed in a timely manner or at all, unless you continually harass the front office staff. Speaking of staff, there is only 1 maintenance technician for the entire property who is constantly changing every few months. I have spoken with many of the previous technicians and they all complain that they are overworked. That is likely why they have such a high turnover. Unfortunately that not only affects the employees but the residents as well. Once your maintenance request is finally fulfilled (months after your initial request), expect it to be done to the bare minimum standards. The buildings are so old and poorly maintained that its obvious they dont want to put any more money in than they absolutely have to. If they could simply hire more maintenance technicians and maybe one more property manager, I would happily give this place 5 stars, as it checks many of the boxes and is an overall nice and quiet spot. The owner could clearly care less what the residents think and its a shame because I definitely will not be re signing my lease when it comes due. If punctuality and decent customer service means anything to you, stay far away from this place.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SITE. I WAS ABLE TO PIN POINT THE APARTMENT THAT BEST MATCHED MY GOALS.
