I currently live at joya. Do not move here, trust me. Everything you see is awesome... for the first 3 months. The management is terrible, you can't really enjoy the amenities. The are threatening letters everywhere. You will not have privacy and you will have constant mandatory inspections and interruptions.

Joya looks luxurious, although thats the only thing it has going for it. Management is awful and changed multiple times while living there. Everyone is very superficial and in the end dont get the job done. There was no way I would renew my lease there. And since Ive moved out I held up my side of the contract, but they have failed to return my deposit for over 3 months since move out. Ive called multiple times and was promised resolutions and call backs and nobody has. Do not recommend!

It just gets worse...and worse...and worse. I honestly cannot fathom how this place hasn't burned to the ground yet. Their staff is incompetent, have no standard operating procedures in place, and hold no sense of empathy towards the tenants that live in the building.

This past weekend we arrived back from a comedy show only to realize that not only did our car transponders not work, but our key fobs were deactivated as well. And before anyone asks "But did you pay your rent?" -- we have a credit on our account of $53 and always pay rent early. When we were finally able to get in via someone who had a working key fob we realized that we couldn't open our apartment door -- which sent my dog into an absolutely horrible panic attack through the door. It took over an hour to get someone to drive all the way from West Kendall to let us in our apartment. Mind you, there are JOYA employees that live in the building who could have easily gotten us into our apartment in a more timely manner. To make things worse, the guy who came to let us in had zero sympathy for us and when asked what we should do because we needed to let our dog out to relieve herself and get back in to the building, his response was "I don't know. I'm just here to let you in. Take it up with management tomorrow morning."

When we came back to the building the next morning to speak with the management team, no one in the office had any knowledge of our issue from the prior night. That raises a huge flag in my book, showing that they don't have any kind of standard operating procedures to review complaints or issues that were opened during office after hours. The woman in the office explained to us that something had "slipped through the cracks" and that our key fobs had expired and that they were supposed to have replaced our fobs before then. No concession was offered and no truly empathetic apology was issued. We were promised a call from the manager. And of course -- NO CALL RECEIVED.

I currently live here at Joya and definitely not going to renew my lease do to their poor concierge. The place is beautiful and has lots of potential but have the worst concierge Ive ever seen!!! The guy is only out to put tow away stickers on residents cars!!! Not even on cars that dont live in the building!!!! Its mind blowing how you live in a place thats always making your life impossible. Im writing this because I was towed away being a resident here with 2 more months on my lease and I will not be renewing when I can go down the street pay$600 less a month and get a place in the same standards as this ANYONE LOOKING TO RENT HERE PLEASE CHECK EVERY OTHER PLACE IN THE AREA BEFORE MAKING A DECISION!!!!
