I honestly would rather live anywhere else. From my first days to my last days, nothing but problems. I have to wait at least a week before maintenance even looks at our appliances. Half of the people at the leasing office are so rude. Then they just built these huge speed bumps in the entrance way that just scrapes the paint off my car. Just go live anywhere but here.
If I could give 0 stars I would ! PLEASE DONT EVER MOVE HERE !!! Save your money and find a better place for cheaper. DOK claims to be a nice, affordable apartment community fit for college students, but its far from it. My roommates and I just moved out and we have a wayyy better apartment in the same area for cheaper. I could write a book filled of all the things that are wrong with this community. DOK Management need to be fired. Everything is so unorganized. They charge entirely too much for all the "features" that they claim you will get in the apartment. The apartment we were assigned looked nothing like the nice clean updated model. The furniture was all outdated. Worn down couches. Drawers to the dresser/desks were broken and didn't open smoothly. We were told we would get moved to an updated apartment our second term staying there but we never could because they tried to charge us like $100/person MORE to move us into the apartment WE WERE ORIGINALLY SUPPOSED TO HAVE FROM THE BEGINNING. Every month there was an issue with the billing of my apartment and unnecessary late charges. They kept sending me delinquency/eviction warning notices even though my rent was on time. Utilities statements always posted late, with inaccurate meter readings/charges. The apartment above us flooded their laundry room, so we had to deal with leaks in our ceiling for 3-4 months. The DOK's solution for this was to put 3 giant air blowing machines in the common area and leave them running all day. Then they proceeded to just paint over all the mold that had accumulated in the walls/ceiling areas. Then had to deal with another electric bill dispute. Nobody in the office ever knows whats going on. We contacted the staff multiple times for multiple issues and no one ever got back to us about them in a timely manner. They moved in a new girl, without any prior notice. Had my other roommates and I thinking we had an intruder in the apartment.
If I could give no stars I would. The entire time I lived in the districts I had problems. Not only did we have mold in our apartment when we moved in, but we had broken appliances and a sink that was suppose to be changed a week in and never happened. We never got our deposit, in fact we had 800 dollars added and most of that was electric and water charges that we paid several months before we moved out. We tried to go to the office to talk to someone and we were always told that the person who'd be able to help us was not there. Eventually we were sent to a collecting agency and now we have to pay despite the fact that many charges were already paid for. We still tired to go up to the office one more time just to get someone to talk to and we were told legally no one could talk to us.
Highly disrespectful towards residents! My son lived there because it was sold to us as "student" housing - WHAT A JOKE!!
They have outrageous fees when moving out WATCH OUT - DO NOT live there - GO ELSEWHERE
Save your money and go somewhere cheaper and cleaner.
