I went in to look at a unit and immediately was told that there weren't any available, I then asked when would the next unit be available and the woman stated there was a wait list. I asked to be placed on the wait list and possibly schedule a tour but the woman was very rude about it. The woman hadn't even allowed me past the front door of the office before telling me there were no apartments available and seemed she didn't want to help me anyway as she stood up in front of me not even checking to see what they actually had available. Seemed prejudice to me! Don't waste your time if this is how they treat poetential residents, can't imagine how you're treated once on a lease. Customer service sucks!

First let me start with the good. We dealt with a young lady name Joy who was a delight to deal with. So if you do consider this property I would deal with her. The apartments were spacious with a wonderful layout. Once seeing the apartments I thought this may be it as we had narrowed our search down to one at this time and this was the last place we were visiting. We were in town for two days from Ohio and had already seen 13 properties. We looked at two models and while asking questions in the one we were most interested in a manager stuck her head in the door and stated that we had been gone for more than 20 minutes and they wanted to check on us for security reasons. Which my wife and I completely understood however this is where things went south. While I apologize for the amount of time when your 1000 miles from home and have two days to chose a home you want to make the right choice. She then stated well if you have questions you can ask them in the office. This just rubbed my wife and I the wrong way. We then left to view our other choice to decide between the two. My wife stated she would like to see the Carlton at Bartram Park one more time before filling out the application so upon arrival the second time we did see the apartment one more time and the same manager while we were waiting for Joy had attitude again because we were back. Well, my assumption is if you have attitude while I am on a search for a luxury home what will your attitude be if I am locked into this home for a year or more. So my wife and chose another property. I felt bad for the leasing agent as she was wonderful. But if customer service has attitude before you get my money I can only see it being worse once they get your name on the lease.

Lovely apartments other wise. To bad the attitude is there as we really liked the 3 bedroom 3 bath.

This place is not worth the money. Been living here over a year and probably about 2 times a month we have to have maintenance come out and fix something, whether it is the all the cabinet drawers falling out or the air-conditioning not working and running up the electric bill.
The bugs are also horrible. Can't walk outside my door in the morning without being greeted by multiple spiders a dozen moths 16 beetles and don't forget the mosquito or 10. That and you can't walk around the grounds without seeing ant mounds every where. One more thing on bugs, been fighting to keep the roaches out with having the peast control company come out and spray 3 times a month (we keep our apartment clean but wake up to 1 or 2 scurrying around the kitchen floors every morning).
Dog poop everywhere. Can't walk in any part of grass without stepping in dog poop. I am tired of having to walk over to the car wash station to use the hose to wash the poop off my shoes.
The trash service is aweful. They will only take your trash/recycling if it meets their special restrictions. If the trash bag is deamed to heavy they won't take it. If it isent tied properly they won't take it. If the recycling isent placed ontop of the trash can, even though you have no trash to take out, they won't take it. The threaten you with a fine. I have watched the trash guy, through the peep hole, move my recycling bag and take a picture of it then walk away leaving it. I still have no idea the Goldilocks zone for them to take my trash after livinif here for a year and a half. I mostly end up having to take out my own trash to a completely full trash compactor about half the time because the trash service had decided that they found something wrong with my garbage. One week what I put out is fine then the next week they decide it's wrong.
Building off of everything constantly breaking, the construction is crap. No sound proofing at all. Can hear my neighbor sneeze. Light shines through all door cracks ect.

We're disheartened to read these comments. We always do our best to maintain tidy grounds and our maintenance team works diligently to respond to all requests in the order they're received. However, if you feel something is taking longer than expected, we're always happy to check on its status. We would also be happy to discuss the regulations of our trash/recycling policies, please stop by the office at your earliest convenience so we may go over them and work towards improving your experience.


**CAUTION VETERANS** The noise at The Carlton at Bartram Park is UNBEARABLE. The people above me have been making Excessively LOUD NOISE for 8 months since day 3 of me moving in here. All of the noise is between 3pm-1am weekends and weekdays ***My next comment is in Response to The Owner that responded to my initial review of this property on another website*** I've called SECURITY several times and got the following message: "The person at this number is not accepting calls right now"... Annnd! I have a video to prove it.. *******CAUTION FROM A VETERAN DO NOT LIVE HERE*** I have lived here for only two months. The people above me and below me make me feel like I live inside of a Subwoofer Speaker. My floors/walls vibrate from the music played below me and my ceiling/walls vibrate from the surround sound in the apartment above me. I have written two letters and one email to the property manager, which has done nothing. There has been NO Change and all the staff keeps telling me is "Oh we're sorry we'll send a letter out". A letter does nothing if there's no action behind it. There has been NO ACTION. From now on I'll call the Police. I'm sure the Carlton has the Florida Landlord and Tenant Act and until they do something about this noise they are in breach of their lease. According to Florida law, if a police officer comes to your home or apartment based on a noise violation, you have 5 minutes to "comply with the warning" and turn your music down. If you do not comply it is a $500 fine. At this point, I just moved in and I'm ready to move out. I wouldn't suggest this place to my worst enemy!

Thank you. As per our email correspondence, we have sent noise violation letters to the homes in question and you said this helped with the noise levels. We also supplied you with the phone number and hours for River City Security, but if you need these again we would be happy to provide them. This service can help with any late night noise complaints, as Jacksonville's noise ordinance is set for 11:00 p.m. Please give us a call or come by the office if you need assistance with anything else.
