I've lived here now going on one year in July. I'm on the top floor and I must say, I love living here! Maintenance is always timely and I've not had any issues with pest. The apartment itself is easy to maintain and when moving in, it was in fantastic shape. I would obviously recommend people to move in.
Please be cautious when signing a lease here. Management does not respond to email or phone messages. I lived here over the last two years and the first year wasn't too bad as the original management was more attentive to resident concerns. The new/current management company is not in the least bit concerned with residents well-being or concern.
Yes, the apartments and facilities are gorgeous but if you do decide to stay here, make sure you're very aware that the walls are VERY THIN. If you decide to move forward, try to get an apartment on the very top floor and in a corner apartment to avoid the noise issues as I can't emphasize enough how thin the walls are.
Just to give you an idea, I lived under an apartment who has a larger dog who is constantly running around and making an incredible amount of noise. I love dogs but it was unbearable. I could also hear every single step upstairs. In addition, the upstairs tenants were always dropping things (and while this was more of the luck of the draw) I was woken up numerous times at odd hours (2 am to 4 am). Keep in mind that I am not a light sleeper.
Although maintainece requests were never an issue, once again would like to mention that if you have any complaints about noise issues, they will not get addressed. Even had the courtesy officer tell me at 11 pm that it's still early to be reporting noise. Also you may wonder if noise is an issue why I choose to stay here a second year, well the first year wasn't as bad as it was brand new and the entire first year I did not have upstairs neighbors. I am a nurse and I don't have the most normal hours so with the most recent tenants the last year has been quite a struggle. Management has never once addressed my concerns.
The inside of the apartment unit is absolutely beautiful. Cant say the same for the rest. The staff is very unhelpful, use extreme caution when signing a lease agreement. Theres two gates when trying to get in and out. One that opens like a door, and the other like a toll booth. That means longer wait times. Gates get broken & glitch often, so if you have a nice car use caution. Pick the 4th floor you or, youll hear every single step from the person above you on the laminated floors. When the property has lawn work done, they need to get rid of the sandy walkways also fill the empty patches of grass. Be careful with office staff, they will share PII with other residents. The Starbucks machine is a huge plus! Although staff should maintain the machine more. Awesome thing is they do have pest control! Would suggest staying home when pest control comes to put pesticides in your apartment, otherwise you may end up touching it, or brushing something on it that may cause adverse health effects. The property does have valet trash, no option for recycling though. The carbon footprint by the property leaves a big dent. Would suggest buying a water filter the water quality is not the best, has the strong, dense chlorine smell/taste.
Parking is a problem when you come in later, youll have a decent walk to your unit. Unless you spend 175 for a attached garage. The community parking spaces are pretty tight. So if your purchasing a new car get the scratch protection, or buy a bottle of Scratch eraser. Make sure to read the lease agreement before you sign it, and request a copy ASAP! If you have a dog they have an awesome dog park, beware of sand fleas! Community is open to all breeds, youll see bulldogs, pit bulls, German Shepards, and the little ones as well! Youll be rolling the dice when it comes to loud neighbors, and thin walls. Property is by a new management company called South Oxford Management.
It is a really nice place to live, convenient to school and everything else we need.
