Westbrooke Place

If you are looking for a luxury apartment in West End, and can afford Westbrooke Place, I implore you to look anywhere else, as the building has significant issues. To start, the building has severe rodent and insect infestations, and management/maintenance will take months to actually take any requests seriously. The rooftop is nice, but the gym is about the size of a walk-in closet and is practically unusable if more than one person is in there at the same time, plus the machine selection is abysmal. Additionally, it constantly smells like chlorine since there is an indoor 25 meter lap pool that is rarely used by tenants. Don't expect any response from management, as they will take months to get back about anything (other than rent payments of course) and act as if you are putting them out when you have issues with the apartment you live in. The building itself is extremely old, with only 3 elevators, one of which I have seen operational for about an hour in my year tenure (was told it would be fixed within a week of my move-in). There are constant water pipes breaking and issues with heating/AC, so expect your water or air control to be turned off at least once a month, and the fire alarms go off for no reason quite often. As for pricing, the building is actively being sued by the DC AG for price fixing and collusion (https://oag.dc.gov/release/attorney-general-schwalb-sues-realpage-residential) and it shows based on the exorbitant listing price of units. Plus, if you ever plan to renew, expect your renewal offer to be around a 30% increase from your initial rent.

This is a lovely building, but I've had some problem with noise the first week living here. Hopefully this won't be an ongoing problem. The staff was very responsive to some repairs that were needed initially. The leasing office has gone out of its way to make my transition from another city seamless. I feel good about my choice to live here.

Westbrooke is a great building. The management is extremely attentive and kind. Move in is easy and smooth. The facilities are awesome.

This is my second year in this Community, and the high standard they set in my first year (and noted in my survey response last year), they have well-maintained again. I really enjoy living here.

It's a good community if you can afford it. The amenities are good, the staff is polite, and the maintenance guys are pros.

Living at the Westbrooke Place has been very convenient and comfortable living experience for me so far.
