Being in downtown DC, we are excited to offer a very rare acre of green space available to our residents anytime they choose. In addition, we are in walking distance to two metro stations and an abundance of retail and restaurant options.
Our lease terms are: 2 months, 3 months, 4 months, 5 months, 6 months, 7 months, 8 months, 9 months, 10 months, 11 months, 12 months, 13 months, 14 months, 15 months, 16 months, 17 months, 18 months (Please note that lease terms may vary, are subject to change without notice, and are based on availability. Inquire with property staff for complete details).
Absolutely horrible property. Do not move here. There is NO sense of customer service. They are doing you a favor by letting you rent from them. There is NO concierge staff. They are instructed to ONLY accept/deliver packages. Guests? Food? Other delivery? You are on your own to coordinate. Absolutely HORRIBLE standard.
I need a building with a concierge service because I'm very busy. I have most things delivered. Galley food, grub hub, uber eats, Amazon Prime Now, etc. I occasionally have guests visit. I need a concierge to help make my life easier.
BUT - this convenience is NOT offered at this property. Their concierge service is explicitly told to ONLY accept packages from the delivery services (UPS, etc.). Want to use Galley to deliver your food to the front desk for pickup when you get in? Nope. Have a guest? You have to coordinate in advance to meet them downstairs because the concierge is told not to help. You can't buzz them up to your unit. The concierge tells your GUEST to call you to come down and meet them. This is AFTER the concierge has checked their id and made them sign in.
Concierge service is not provided - just package pickup; when they are at the desk. Management has said that there are many reasons why the desk is unmanned.
I feel like I am living in a Motel 6. I do not look forward to coming home. I have simple expectations from ANY concierge:
1. Accept packages for me.
2. If I have a guest, delivery, etc., call me before letting them up (after you've done any verification you need). I think most any person living in a city with a concierge would expect this basic service. There aren't too many definitions for it. This is NOT what you get at this property.
Living here has been a most unpleasant experience. It had made my life more complicated and certainly does not save me time. I would NEVER live in a Gables property again after this experience. I have several times asked for a copy of the policies - never have I been provided with them.
They reward tenants with points for positive online reviews - be warned. Like buying reviews?
Beautiful building with excellent amenities and great staff.
Overall a great place to stay. Hopefully my rent price does not sky-rocket if I choose to renew my lease. My only complaints is the intermittent WiFi on the 2nd floor, and gym equipment that could be repaired.
I look forward to living in Gables City Vista.
