The entire north side of the building (facing Pennsylvania Avenue) - which is the side I live on - suffers from a lot of noise. A bar heavily frequented by students is just across the street, making the hours of 1:30 AM to 2:00 AM particularly loud, especially on weekends.
Additionally, a bus stop is just outside the building, and it sounds like the buses are inside my apartment when they pull up. I can hear the automated vocal announcements of the bus destinations. I thought this was just because I am on the 2nd floor, but a friend who lives on the 5th has the same complaints.
I'd recommend living in this building, but NOT on the north side. It's just too noisy here.
One last unrelated comment: the rooftop patio is nice, but it's also pretty loud as there are generators up there. Still, it's a nice spot to hang out on. My likes and dislikes are: The apartments are quite nice; so is the lobby. The staff are friendly and competent and respond to requests very well.
The building is old and all apartment doors are made from metal and are extremely loud when they slam. Also, all windows need to be replaced with noise and air isolation windows. My likes and dislikes are: Great Location and Friendly Staff
Most maintenance fixes have been quick and efficient. However, one of our windows has been broken for months, supposedly awaiting supplies. At first it was cold and drafty, but now it's hot and stuffy and we can't open it either way. It would be greatly appreciated if it could be taken care of at the earliest convenience, or if we could at least get an update on the progress. My likes and dislikes are: There is a nice communal and generally friendly feeling. Also clean and nice decorum is a plus and helps it feel "homey" :)
Even though the building is older, it is kept up very nicely. The staff are professional and maintenance requests are handled quickly.
Excellent staff and maintenance. been here for 2 years with no problems. The location is great but it tend to be noisy due to ambulance sirens from GW hospital. every thing you may need is of walking distance, with easy access to public transportation; Foggy bottom metro station and bus stop are near by the building.
