I have called the Eaves home for about a year now and I am very happy. The apartment complex does not feel like you are in a big city, but it is walkable distance to all that Downtown Stamford has to offer.
The apartments provide the amenities that you would hope for, a garbage disposal, washer and dryer, small balcony, and central heating and cooling.
Maintenance at the Eaves is fantastic, they respond practically immediately to any requests that are submitted.
The eaves is also dog friendly, they have a fenced in dog walk area where you can take your dog off leash, this is especially helpful in the winter when daylight is limited.
The Eaves has sent out several emails urging pet owners to use the designated pet relief area, rather than the courtyard, however, in order to get to the pet relief area you have to walk through the courtyard, so preventing your dog from going to the bathroom can prove very difficult. What makes this more frustrating, is that the Eaves said they will charge a $100 fine for any dog relieving themself in the courtyard. It seems very appropriate to urge residents to bring their dogs to use the designated area, but imposing a $100 fine seems outrageous. Especially when the same fine does not apply to other infractions.
The trash rooms are also constantly abused. I would hope cameras would be installed so that residents would not be able to throw their garbage and boxes in the room without disposing of items properly.
Overall I really enjoy living at the Eaves, I feel safe and am very happy to have renewed my lease through 2020! I would recommend this apartment complex to anyone looking to live in Downtown Stamford.
The air conditioning issue in my apartment has now been fixed by the new management, and I am once again glad to be a resident of this building and would like to remove my previous review from 4/11/2019.
I am an 8 year resident of this building. My central air conditioning unit stopped working last August and has not been fixed. I was continuously told that they were waiting for parts, I'd be updated soon, etc. It is now 7 months later, and I am once again told that the building is waiting on parts from a vendor and no one can tell me when these parts might arrive. At least 10 other apartments lost their AC last summer. Prospective residents should be aware that each apartment has an individual AC unit, the units are old, and if they break, they currently have no way of fixing them.
The buildings are fine but the management is TERRIBLE. I had many problems with them during the course of the 8 months I lived there in 2018. They frequently close this office during the stated office hours to get lunch or coffee. I heard them talking to each other about it while in the lobby once. They also frequently close the office earlier than the stated hours so anyone that works a 9-5 job has absolutely no chance of getting them in person unless you take a day off work. When you do email them (because as I said its impossible to find them if you work 9-5) they are not helpful. When I was moving out they kept forgetting to bring my move out checklist to me and I emailed multiple times to finally get the checklist the day I was moving out. This meant I did not have time to go through it with them because you have to schedule an appointment for that even though there were 2 employees working in the office doing nothing else that day. As a result I was charged around $400 because there was a small bleached spot of carpet in the closet underneath the stair. 1. I do not own bleach, no have I ever. 2. Why does it matter if its in a utility closet underneath the stairs? Another problem I had was when I accidentally sent a package to my old address and I called them to ask if they could please check to see if it arrived (I had delivery confirmation) and if so I would arrange for a friend who still lived in the area to come pick it up. They supposedly reached out to the current resident who did not respond. Fine. But I asked if they could walk LITERALLY ACROSS THE STREET to the actual building to check because usually packages are delivered to the mail area of that building and they did not do so. They stated no packages had arrived for me at the office. They were grossly unaware of the fact that packages for the 93 building dont even go to the office. They never did for the entire time I lived there. Lazy, arrogant, unhelpful.
Very responsive; invested in the tenants and in maintaining a safe, clean environment.
