The Liberty

My experience with Liberty Building was very frustrating. Newcomer to the US for less than a year, I moved to CT for a mission. Im currently living in a place where the rent is 15% higher than Liberty and I was looking to find an alternative for next year. Liberty sounded liked a good spot, visited and shortlisted that community. They insist that the monthly rent is only valid if you apply now and will go up later. They showed you the steal rent, very affordable and attractive, so you are more into apply quickly. They also making you feel that no matter what you want to do, you have to fill an application (which is correct I agree). The application fee is $75 per person and obviously non-refundable. We felt we had to fill an application but thats where the joke starts. As a foreigner, Im currently in the process of building a credit score, having my leases paid on time and revolving credit timely paid. Liberty denied my application because my score is too low (I have the average score as I just have 6 month of reporting) and they claimed my former address given was wrong. I asked to have a copy of the report to show me where bad score is (lower than 400) and the incorrect address, they were unable to prove it to me. I pulled my credit reports from Experian/TransUnion : Everything was correct on my credit reports, paid on time, my score was fair and I have the income to handle easily the rent and my own needs. I tried to give more documents to show that I have a stable job, paying every bills on time. They were very cold and all I felt was thank you for your money good bye. I thought this was a serious management but I will think twice before applying here if you are in a similar case or new in New Haven for a few months.

Moving in soon, Robin was wonderful to work with. The building is well maintained, apartments are gorgeous. Can't wait to move in.
