I have been to Canal Crossing at Whitneyville West a few times since it opened. I am not moving for a while, but I attend their events to keep up with the progress there. Canal is the best option in the Hamden-New Haven area. We looked at several other communities and none of them were the same quality of this place. We looked at the new complexes in New Haven too, and this is the best bang for your buck. (And cheaper parking! One car is free at Canal.) I love what I have seen happen in the Clubhouse. I cant wait to move in and hang out there with friends. The leasing office has kept in touch with me throughout the months to let me know about its progress. Communication is great! I know it will be the perfect be the perfect home for us.
Beautiful apartment, clean building, attentive and prompt maintenance
a friendly and welcoming community. Clean well kept grounds and people in the business office willing to help.
The apartment and complex are beautiful, and we really love living there. The staff is friendly and responds quickly. The only reason that I gave good instead of excellent has to do with communication. Though responses are quick, sometimes they are unclear in direction which leads to confusion among residents. Working on communication will make Canal an excellent place to live. Also, we were the first residents to move into our brand new apartment, but there were things that were uncharacteristic for brand new places like paint on floors, uneven cabinets, a cracked tub, etc. These should have been taken care of before we moved in, not after.
I am very pleased with my decision to live at Canal Crossing because my apartment is beautiful and exactly what I was looking for. The location is good: I enjoy the nearby forest and lakes, which are peaceful and relaxing. The area I really enjoy sitting on my balcony and am proud to have visitors over. The facilities are very well-maintained and it is clear that the management takes great care in the upkeep, which is important. With any apartment living situation comes the worry of noise, but I have not experienced any problems living here (granted, I live on the 4th floor). My only minor complaint is that some of the office staff are occasionally mildly unpleasant, but that is almost insignificant compared to all the other positives of living here. I would absolutely recommend!
