Just a short ferry ride from San Francisco
, the town of Tiburon started its life as the southern end of the Northwester Pacific Railroad, and served as a distribution hub for the entire region. The railroad has come and gone, leaving Tiburon behind as a quaint commuter and tourist town with a number of restaurants and other attractions for apartment residents.
Probably the most well-known of these restaurants is Sam's Anchor Cafe. First opened in 1920, the longtime fixture was named the Best Outdoor Restaurant in the Bay Area by the San Francisco Chronicle. Located right on the waters of San Francisco Bay, the cozy restaurant offers Tiburon apartment renters panoramic views of Angel Island, Alcatraz, the San Francisco skyline and beautiful sunsets from its very popular outdoor deck.
On Friday nights throughout the summer, Tiburon apartment renters can also eat out at one of the city's Friday Night on Main Street events. Billed as the "Ultimate Community Street Party" by the Chamber of Commerce, officials shut down Main Street to cars, turning the entire area into an outdoor dining and gathering area for Tiburon apartment renters to eat, mingle and relax. Each weekly event features live music, dancing and shopping and is given a specific theme, such as Oktoberfest or the Fourth of July.
Those living in Tiburon apartments can also attend the annual Tiburon Wine Festival. The event first started in the 1980s, and has now grown into one of the most renowned wine events in the Bay Area with more than 60 wineries attending in recent years.
