Good: The grounds are well maintained and the neighborhood is safe. Gym facilities are great, multiple pools, maintenance staff respond quickly and are helpful and experienced. On the outside everything looks great. Prospective residents and visitors are always impressed.
Bad: The management staff has been either unwilling or unable to deal with real problems. For example, I have a neighbor that has been consistently letting his dog peeing and defecating in hallways and stairs, and lately directly outside my apartment. We complained to the management office and they sent cleaning staff to clean it up. Then it happened over and over again. We showed them pictures and yet it keeps on happening. It has become a public nuisance and a public health issue. There are kids living around here and yet the management is still letting it happen. I told the management that I would make a complaint to the authorities and they didn't seem to be concerned at all. North Park has all sorts of house rules, including specified colors of curtains. And yet they are okay with having dog excrement in hallways and in front of people's apartment. Wow.
I lived in The Oaks from 2014-2016. It was a really nice community with pretty open balconies, a great grill space, and my personal favorite...indoor basketball court. I never used the pools, though they were pretty popular. It is also very close to a Google bus stop, which I know makes it popular as well.
