Such a central spot in Downtown San Diego with all of the amenities one could dream of!
I am totally pleased with the team at the Broadway Lofts! I will recommend this property as a premier place to live to all my friends!
The lobby always smells like rotten garbage.
I moved into Broadway Lofts blind coming from the other side of the country. Naturally I was nervous about making such a big commitment without ever seeing the property but Lindsay from management helped put my fears to rest.
The move in went as smooth as could be hoped for and I'm living in downtown San Diego with hundreds of food and drinking options! I'm outside more than I've been in my life, just wandering the streets.
I was worried about the older reviews complaining about dog urine smell and homeless people harassing tenants but I haven't smelled dog pee once inside or on the outside of the building.
There are a couple of homeless people that hang around the streets of course but Broadway Lofts has a security guard standing outside after around 9 when the usual group shows up so it feels super safe. There's also a hotel on every other block with valet staff hanging outside if anything should go down.
You will hear a couple sirens blaze past the building per night. It's downtown. It doesn't bother me at all and I was worried it would before I got here. I haven't heard my neighbors at all - the concrete walls are amazing!!
Some things I'd definitely recommend to make your move smoother is:
Get your internet ready to be turned on by your move in date (I always forget and had to wait a week before I had wifi).
Parking in downtown is EXPENSIVE (I'm talking $250 a month and that's if you can get on the waiting list) so I sold my car. Lyft to my work is $5 one way with the shared ride option which adds up to much less than my car if I add car payments/smog checks/ect.
Get curtains for your windows day one. I woke up at 6 everyday for a week until I got some put up because the Cali sun is BRIGHT!
I spent a long time narrowing down places to live and I'm so glad I chose Broadway Lofts!
The property itself is beautiful and the leasing agent definitely hooked me up. I came into the area site unseen and no knowledge of the actual apartment besides a digital floor plan. The corner apartment is absolutely beautiful nevertheless. The food in the area is all within walking distance and delicious along with a five minute walk to shop. The homeless are outside the building at night but have nowhere else to go I guess. So the presence of the security guard and fog access to the building and elevator provide a sense of safety that would otherwise be missing. I am happy with my move but living downtown is not for the poor nor is it car friendly.
