I just finished moving out of my apartment at OceanAire after living there for 9 months. I was moving to the Bay Area and needed to find something quick, easy, and safe and OceanAire was just that. I knew I couldn't stay long term due to it being out of my budget but it would be manageable for the short term with money I had saved. If money wasn't an issue I would have never left! They're pricey but it's definitely worth it. Not only is the quality of living very high but their team of staff is what makes them truly stand out. Gina helped me from the beginning, showing me the units that were available and everything else after with getting approved and signing the lease. She should be the standard for leasing agents, so patient, warm and personable, and not pushy whatsoever. The manager, Zee is also one of the nicest people I've come across in the CA rental industry. She's incredibly responsive to emails and any issues and is really everything you'd want in an apartment manager. Maintenance requests were always resolved very quickly which was really nice. I really can't think of 1 bad or negative thing over the last 9 months I spent there. Definitely an amazing place to live if you have the chance, take it!

I was working with Zee over the phone on my future relocation plans. Of course they are all over the place with everything going on right now in the world. I appreciated how patient she was with my lack of certainty. Also very informative, giving me all the info I needed virtually! Thank you Zee!

I've been at OceanAire longer than most; four years in November. Over the years the community has had its ups & downs - most noticeably when it underwent major construction for about a year in 2017 (which drove many of the negative reviews online). They've made some great positive changes since then, most notably in management of the community. This remains a really nice place to live - quiet, comfortable, and with an ideal location right on the ocean. The staff are terrific. They are highly responsive and the maintenance team is the best (particular shoutouts to Mike, Zee, and Omar). With that said, lately I've been disappointed with the amenities that OceanAire promotes front & center on their website as a value-add to residents. That lovely spa that you see on the home page? Hasn't worked for months; basically all summer. The fitness center? Machines are frequently broken or not properly maintained, and bizarrely there is a personal trainer running her business out of it all day which monopolizes the equipment. Be careful investing too much value in the beach access, because this part of the coastline experiences major erosion, which means restoration efforts need to happen which block or disrupt that access. (The access was closed for over a year when a sinkhole took out a chunk of the path, and as of the time of writing this review the beach is a major construction site due to a necessary rebuild of the seawall.) Overall, I still recommend OceanAire to prospective tenants, but please make your decision based solely on the apartment itself, and not in the peripheral amenities which have become unreliable and consequently far less valuable.

Oceanaire is beautiful. Ive loved living there so much but 3 weeks after asking for my offer letter they sent me an offer for 6 months which was my current rent agreement at $300 more per month than what I pay currently. I begged them to keep my rent as close to the same price as possible and they declined recommending I sign a 15 month lease which is still close to $100 more per month than what I pay now. Im heartbroken to leave but Im not surprised that this is how they conduct business given how Ive been treated in the past by the head of the main office
