MiraCosta Community College began offering classes in 1934 in a wing of Oceanside High School, in California's San Diego County. With just 122 students and 20 faculty members, MiraCosta was only the second community college incorporated in the county. Today, total enrollment has spiked to approximately 22,000 students, and the school has expanded to a campus in Cardiff-by-the-Sea, and a campus and Community Learning Center in Oceanside. These coastal locations are a major attraction to apartments that are conveniently located near the MiraCosta campuses.
Students renting MiraCosta College apartments gain access to more than 50 unique certificates and associates degrees designed for 2-year career training programs. These varied fields include subjects such as Art, Accounting, Business, Child Development, History, Mathematics, Social Science and Spanish. As the school as expanded, students with apartments near MiraCosta have seen the campuses develop. The school recently opened a biotech facility that included a state-of-the-art building that received designation as a Center of Excellence in Bioprocessing by the US Department of Labor.
Many MiraCosta apartments are ideally located near attractions, such as the Oceanside Pier, the California Surf Museum, and the Southern California Beach Soccer Championships that are held each May. These sights and events, among many more, help keep students engaged with their community in between the arts, music, theater, dance and film events that are held on campus throughout the year.
