All About

Living in Coronado, CA

The small beach community of Coronado - Spanish for "the crowned one" - offers a wide variety of amenities and events for local apartment residents, who often feel like they're the ones who have been crowned after living in this town.

Coronado has its start as a resort city in the late 19th century. In fact the Hotel del Coronado - built in 1888 and still standing today - has been considered one of the top resorts in the world and achieved status as a national landmark. Legend says the hotel's famous facade even served as an inspiration for the famed Emerald City in L. Frank Baum's beloved novel "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz." Eventually, a community sprung up around those resorts, though today apartment renters in Coronado might still consider themselves residents of a resort. That's because Coronado's calm, beachside style of life is conducive to relaxation, part of the reason the city's beaches have been ranked as some of the best nationwide.

The city also offers plenty in the way of culture and entertainment. Two community theaters - the Lamb's Players Theatre and Coronado Playhouse - offer year-round performances that thrill and enchant local apartment residents. Additionally, Chula Vista's gorgeous parks offer apartment residents plenty of space for recreation or outdoor excursions, while the city's golf course provides a great place to get in a round on a relaxing San Diego afternoon.

Coronado is also home to the Naval Base Coronado, a group of eight Navy installations that serves as one of the most expansive military operations locations in the country.
