Thumbs down all the way. Too much bad to type.
Varsity House apartments has become home to my roommate and I. We love the apartment space and the friendly employees. The area is safe and so convenient. We just renewed our contract for another year at a reasonable rate! We love it here at Varsity House.
This place use to be known as the Grove and was known for having cheep furniture and poor service. I made the horrible mistake of taking over a lease while living out of state and I assumed a change in name must have ment a change in quality. I couldn't have been more wrong. There is still mold growing on the siding of some of the buildings, the furniture hasn't even changed in the last 4 years and the service sucks. If I had any chance to go back and make a different choice I would. Any extra money spent would be worth the peace of mind. Please pick University House, Hill Place, the Vue or any other apartment complex. I've lived at all of these before and they are far and above a better choice.
DO NOT live at Varsity House if you want to be treated like a human being at all. My stay at Varsity House has included living A MONTH with mold growing on our walls, our requests to have it fixed were IGNORED until I threatened to take legal action. Then, upon move-in to a new unit I asked to have my furniture replaced as it was peeling and worn down. I was told that it was not in bad enough condition to replace--okay. Well, of course here we are today and I'm being CHARGED $300 to replace the furniture that I was refused when I moved in! On top of that, we have lived through TWO week long periods of our garbage disposal regurgitating back into our sinks and our request to have our dryer replaced because it was THIS CLOSE to exploding were blatantly ignored. Apparently the only reason Varsity House actually had a maintenance team was so they could come around during the last three weeks of our lease and CHARGE US for the maintenance that they refused to do throughout the entirety of our lease. And after trying to contact Varsity House, I have been directed to the ONE PERSON who can "reverse" charges, and he is conveniently out of the office all day every day "helping" with move in. Thank you so much, Varsity House, for letting me know just how much you value me as a customer. So glad you gave away so much free food to make up for the extra hundreds of dollars that I've had to spend because of your negligence.
It's been great. The people are cooperative, patient, and kind.
