All About

Living in Paradise Valley, AZ

Considered a premiere resort destination in the Phoenix area, many visitors to Paradise Valley find themselves becoming longtime apartment renters after their first visit.

Paradise Valley's wealth of resorts make it renowned in the area, but apartment residents there say that they stay in the community for the long-term because of the area's natural beauty. Nowhere is that made more evident than on the popular Mummy Mountain. Now considered a nature preserve protected by the Mummy Mountain Preserve Trust, the mountain is a popular destination among local apartment renters for its breathtaking views of Paradise Valley.

Those views are what first impressed Charles Mieg, a New York real estate banker who first provided the funds that helped market Mummy Mountain in the 1930s. According to the Trust, Mieg was struck by the mountain's beauty and its curious resemblance to an Egyptian mummy lying down. It was there that he derived the name, and his first investments in preserving the mountain helped lead to the current Trust that still protects it to this day. Apartment renters in Paradise Valley today frequent the location for its views and natural beauty, while local artists, authors and historians draw on the mountain for inspiration.

Paradise Valley's popular resort community typically draws visitors from around the globe, though apartment renters also frequent the resorts for their popular events. The Fall Wine and Jazz Concert is just one event that draws a number of Paradise Valley residents each year.
