Hawthorne is a beautiful community. Parking is easy and accessible. We have a beautiful view of the lake. There are many things about Hawthorne that I believe sets it apart from the rest. They have a workout room that is segregated; there is a room for weights and weight lifting machines, and a room for machines like treadmills. They have a rec room, and free snacks and printing access. I love it! I do wish they were more diligent on residents not picking up after their dog though.
Hawthorne at Lake Heather is a wonderful place to live. It's a gated community just off of highway 280.The apartments have a wonderful view of the lake. Whenever you have a problem, you just go on line and submit your request. Maintenance will be working on it in minuets. It's a very quiet, peaceful and relaxing place to call home. They also have trash pickup at your door. It's the most wonderful place in Birmingham to live. Not to mention the office staff is outstanding and amazing!!!!
We just moved in, but so far so good! Nice complex, friendly staff.
Not worth it. The staff will be friendly to you, but if any maintenance issue comes up, it will be a nightmare to have anything fixed. Ive lived many places in Birmingham, although nice staff, they are the worst for maintenance issues and the timeliness of it.
Apartment quality is great but new management is not. Be prepared for ticky tacky fines and penalties. Seems they are looking for anyway to fine their residents to generate additional revenue. I received a $50 dollar fine for placing an additional trash bag for valet to pick up (keep in mind I pay $25 a month for the valet service in the first place on top on my $1100 in rent). I have lived here for over a year, never been late on rent and never had a complaint filed against me. I understand we violated a policy but maybe consider a warning first before fining your residents. Especially, when we have never had issues with this in the past (we have placed additional trash bags outside before with no issue). Some consistency sure would be nice. Management also needs to work on their interpersonal skills. This is probably the part I was most aggravated with. As a resident that mostly lives a quite life and doesn't cause any trouble, I was disappointed when I confronted management and was met with contempt. I'm sure managing an apartment complex is not always fun and you probably have to deal with some bad residents on a regular basis but I'm not one of those bad residents and being treated like one is cause enough for me to look for residence elsewhere in the future.
