The Retreat at Schillinger

If I could leave zero stars, I would. This place looks great on the outside, but youre paying high dollar for a ghetto lifestyle. I am appalled at the apathy of front office staff and the overall disheveled upkeep of the units themselves. I supposedly moved into a completely renewed and remodeled apartment that was supposed updated with top notch amenities. My air conditioner broke at the start of the summer. It took them over a month to fix it. On top of the dysfunctional air conditioning unit, my neighbors pipes burst, causing major flooding into my apartment. They filled my apartment with large, loud dehumidifiers to dry my floors and walls, which in turn spewed hot air throughout my already hot apartment. I could not sleep due to the sound and heat. I could not use the oven because of the heat, And I could not use my microwave because it would trip a breaker from all the dehumidifiers plugged into the walls. My apartment was not livable. It became so hot that I had to have my pets stay elsewhere lest they die from the heat. I was refused compensation for that misery, as they stated they would only compensate me for my electric bill. Fast forward to move out. I decided not to renew my lease because of that air conditioner incident. I was charged $150 for a missing door. This door never existed. Upon move-in, there was a door frame between the washer/dryer area into the single bedroom but never a door. I assumed that it was part of the design, as it looked like there would not be enough room for a door to open given the placement of the washer and dryer. I spoke with several front office staff and the manager on multiple occasions. I was repeatedly met with rudeness, surly remarks, and overall very poor customer service. Even after having a rational conversation with the head office manager, who claimed that she would look into it with her area manager, I have had no help nor solution for this grossly mishandled situation.

Very nice place to live. I have no complaints. Fast and Easy application process. Maintenance is great. All 3 ladies in the office are wonderful. They are always ready to answer any questions and/or help you to solve any problems.
