I wanted to write a follow up to my previous review/complaint I sent to corporate since this is an all new issue with this apartment. I'll make it shorter as I cannot include all the details. Basically, after I had all my complaints before, the manager emailed and said she could release me from our lease early since we weren't happy. Well, some things came up regarding my husband's family member which caused him to have to go across the country to care for this family member. Once he got back and we finally figured out where we needed/wanted to go to live, I told the manager we're leaving when our lease was originally up. Yes, our lease is up in a couple weeks, however, at no point did she tell me that the email she sent me required a 30 day notice. She shouldn't have baited me with that email and made me think we could leave when we wanted. Not only that, but she's been rude ever since I first met her after she started working here. She has asked me more than once what I do for a living and why I have so many priority mail boxes sent to me, which is none of her business. I finally told her last night what I do and why I need those boxes, and I could tell she already knew because she quickly fired back a question about helping her with a charity event. I politely said no because we can't physically do it when we're leaving in a few weeks, and that's when she hit me with the "Well, you were supposed to give 60 days, it's such a shame", and she was saying it in the most rude tone! I get we signed a lease, but again, don't send me emails saying we can leave without the 60 days notice. At no point other than very recently did she say that what she said in the email no longer applied. I could go on about her rudeness, like constantly not giving me my packages from the office, which happened just last night. I asked if my priority boxes were back there and she repeatedly said no. I finally walked back there and there they were in PLAIN SIGHT! I could say more like her cal
I had to physically drive up to the office to turn in my paperwork after several calls and no callback. Nice property, nice pool, OKAY maintenance other than a man named Chuck who was excellent and was very nice. You are NOT guaranteed a parking spot as they say first come first serve. Also many marks on my car since Ive moved in. Not very happy with my overall decision to move in unfortunately.
We just moved in, but so far so good! Nice complex, friendly staff.
Not worth it. The staff will be friendly to you, but if any maintenance issue comes up, it will be a nightmare to have anything fixed. Ive lived many places in Birmingham, although nice staff, they are the worst for maintenance issues and the timeliness of it.
Apartment quality is great but new management is not. Be prepared for ticky tacky fines and penalties. Seems they are looking for anyway to fine their residents to generate additional revenue. I received a $50 dollar fine for placing an additional trash bag for valet to pick up (keep in mind I pay $25 a month for the valet service in the first place on top on my $1100 in rent). I have lived here for over a year, never been late on rent and never had a complaint filed against me. I understand we violated a policy but maybe consider a warning first before fining your residents. Especially, when we have never had issues with this in the past (we have placed additional trash bags outside before with no issue). Some consistency sure would be nice. Management also needs to work on their interpersonal skills. This is probably the part I was most aggravated with. As a resident that mostly lives a quite life and doesn't cause any trouble, I was disappointed when I confronted management and was met with contempt. I'm sure managing an apartment complex is not always fun and you probably have to deal with some bad residents on a regular basis but I'm not one of those bad residents and being treated like one is cause enough for me to look for residence elsewhere in the future.
