If tipping a flat amount, how much? I’m moving this summer and it has been so long that I don’t have a clue how much is appropriate.
Hi Vee,
Thanks for the question. Tipping movers is quite a hot topic these days, but there are no hard and fast guidelines, and a lot depends upon the amount of stuff you have to move, distance, etc. But generally speaking, if you are tipping a flat rate, some sources suggest a per-person rate of $30-50 for each mover, and $60-$100 for the crew chief. If the movers do a really great job, we suggest increasing the tip accordingly. Happy moving!
Thanks,
