Renting Furniture

When you're ready to transform your apartment into your home, renting furniture may be a good solution for you.

If you want furniture at affordable rates but without the thrift store smell and the hassle of moving those mammoths of comfort, then renting furniture may be just what you're looking for.  Furniture rental means you typically end up with a low monthly payment (unless you go for the top of the line, super plush, leather Couch Mahal).  Renting furniture also gives you the ability to test out different types and styles of furniture without having to commit large amounts of cash to buy the furniture that you may not like as much a year from now.

Renting furniture is all about convenience. Delivery and set-up of the furniture is often done for you, for a standard fee.  And the companies come and pick up the furniture when you finish the lease term.  These companies know the local apartment communities, so they know the styles that would fit with the apartments, and the unique delivery and set up logistics of the buildings.  They do all the "heavy lifting!"

Rental furniture is also available on a rent-to-own basis.  In this case, your rent money will eventually be turned into ownership over time. But, as with everything, remember to be a smart shopper.

Read the specifics of the contract to make sure you understand the terms of the contract and the delivery and pick up charges.  Compare how much more it will cost you to own the furniture versus renting over the same amount of time. Understand the minimum number of months required by the lease - three month or six months are common, and there often is a discount for longer lease terms.
