Need a job you love as much as your apartment? Don't we all! The Internet is populated with more online employment resources than paparazzi-obsessed blogs. The formula goes: Get online. Create a network. Increase your chances of finding a job (and of making some more scratch, also known as coinage, green, beer tokens, moolah, savings).
Online resources have job-hunting down to an easy science (like mentos in a soda bottle but fortunately not as messy). You can post your resume, search through employment listings and apply for jobs that interest you. Most of them are easy to use and have an abundance of listings for you to browse.
Before you get started, conduct a self-assessment. What are you good at, what do you want to do? Determine your job hunting objectives. Then network, network, network. Talk to family and friends who work at, or know people who work at, places you are interested in working as well.
You can even organize a support group. Think of them as your own Board of Directors. Their job will be to assist you, mentor you, and help you figure out where you want to go and how you can get there. It's an extended network. They work better than you can even imagine.
After you've identified employers you admire and would like a career with, keep networking. Browse their Job Opportunities postings. Apply for jobs you're interested in and qualified for. Follow up with their Human Resources Department. Inquire with friends and family to see if they have any connections with the company. A good network will get you far.
Good luck with your upcoming life-changing, wallet-enhancing, daily-bettering perfect job. Hopefully you'll find one you love. Happy hunting!
