Some apartment homes have walk in closets, wood floors and views of downtown Philly. Just blocks from UPenn, Drexel, Rittenhouse Square and across Schuylkill River from Center City. We offer easy access to I 95, I 76, I 676, as well as LUCY Loop through University City , Suburban and 30th Street Stations. Or, go green by walking or biking to your destination. I was only here a year but the staff here made me feel part of a community. They went out of their way to help me feel at home.
Chestnut Hall is one of the best places to live in University City. The staff are very kind, the way they handle and provide service is excellent! I have been living here for 2 years, and have happily renewed my lease for another year.
Chestnut Hall is a great place to live, close to a Septa stop, supermarket and many restaurants. Being minutes from UPENN and Drexel makes it really easy to commute as a student. Being in an apartment building like Chestnut Hall means a quite space to relax and study without dealing with the typical college noise.
I like living in the building but the cost of a late utility payment is very high ($75), which I discovered the hard way in a month when I paid the rent too early to see the utility cost in the online payment system. When I called about the charge I was told there is no grace on these infractions and I we directed to read my lease. Otherwise happy.
Friendly staff, good rates for location, good communication from management, quick response to service requests. I have enjoyed living here, and am close to a lot of neighborhood activity.

Major Cross Streets On 39th St between Sansom St and Chestnut St. Take 95 to Route 676 to 76 east. Exit to Market Street. Continue to follow Market street and make a left on to 39th Street. Directly after the first traffic light Chestnut Hall will be on your right. From Franklin Field go West on Walnut to 39th and Walnut make a right turn. Community is 1 Block up on the left. When approaching Chestnut Hall from Chestnut Street there is a large mural with an airplane on the wall that says Chestnut Hall. The community is located on the corner of 39th St. and Chestnut St. It isthe large building with green awnings.
