Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, a town named in Welsh after the "Big Hill" that dominates its geography, is home to the excitement of student living at Bryn Mawr College. The institution, which has been a community landmark for more than 125 years, was founded in 1885 by the Religious Society of Friends, or Quakers. Bryn Mawr College's academic reputation and high selectivity is a main attraction to student living at the school. For the 2012 school year, the U.S. News & World Report ranked it the 25th best liberal arts college in the nation.
