After some very basic communication fumbles about the eligibility process, we have been very happy with our stay at The Ellington. Having worked in property management for many years, I know when a management team is trying to steer a property in the right direction, and that is definitely the case here. The details are noticed and appreciated. Our biggest concern is for night-time safety: Large areas of the property (including our parking lot) are not well-lit, and some are pitch dark.

Maintenance was not always immediately available and did not do a sufficient job caulking bathtup and bathroom sink, which peels easily and in the case of the sink, does not seem securely attached to the wall. Toilet broke on the day of moving in, was fixed, but often frequently starts running after being flushed, and needs to be flushed several times before it stops running. Closet in the bedroom was unusable at beginning of move-in due to a strong, unpleasant smell.

Any time I have maintenance needs, it is taken care of in a timely fashion and the people are all always professional and excellent to work with.
Dissatisfying experiences with the head of maintenance: (1) THREE ineffective lock changes following a domestic disturbance, none of which resulted in a secured exterior door, (2) Trying to tow my for sale fully operable 1981 Mercedes, which was driven once every week to insure proper maintenance, (3) A threat to fine me for removal of a community art project, and (4) A threat to tow my Volvo, which had a slow tire leak, but was driven every Sunday, because I drive a cab the other 6 days.
Too expensive for how old and out of date the apartments are. Looked nothing like the model apartment we were showed. Old gas heater. The apartment gets freezing in the winter due to the thin walls. Tiny kitchen and tiny bathroom. Chipping paint, old creaking floors. No dishwasher or garbage disposal. Raised our rent without providing any additional services.
