For an older property with regular maintenance issues, the staff is very responsive. I have lived here 3 times over the past 12 years and I keep coming back after my overseas tours for a few reasons 1) The walking trail and park 2) walking distance to schools, convenience stores, gym, rec 3) the staff has little patience for residents that cause problems. It's a great community that works well because it is a community. People that create problems or bring drama don't last.
Anytime I have had a maintenance issue, they came and fixed it with no problems. The office staff is very helpful and considerate. They knew I had surgery, and always asked how I was doing when I would have to go to the office.
I like Brookwood Village. My apartment is comfortable, with good insulation and soundproofing. The location and grounds are excellent, and parking is very rarely a problem. Unlike many apartment complexes in and around OKC, Brookwood Village has a lot of green space. The office and maintenance staff treat me well. And I like my neighbors, even that guy a few doors down that doesn't pick up after his dog. On the down side, the complex does show its age some (~37 yrs).
As a long term resident I'm mostly happy with my surroundings. Some clean up (painting, daily scattered trash pickup, landscaping)would be fantastic. My maintenance requests are always answered within 1-2 days and my rental rate is satisfactory.
I've had bug, toilet, plumbing, tub, flooding, and sink issues. Also, sometimes maintenance comes in without giving a notice. It also looks like painters just paint over EVERYTHING. I've only been there a year. Aside from that, the apartment has a nice layout, great neighbors, love swimming pools, tennis courts, putt putt course, cheap washer and dryers, and ponds to walk around. It's a great place to walk and there are tons of stores, restaurants, and fast food places all around.
