Repairs are made in a timely fashion, rent applied correctly, grounds kept neat and safe
Thank you for your review! While we love our experienced maintenance staff, landscapers and on-site courtesy officer, the residents are really the backbone of our community. By picking up trash, planting flowers and gardens, having fish frys and cookouts, and keeping a watchful eye out for each other, you and your neighbors make The Oaks at Edgemont a great place to live!
Overall my experience has been good. There have been some problems with maintenance but I believe they have been worked out.

The apartments are older and don't have the best insulation. You can hear everything that goes on outside as if the person was standing in front of you. Also the bills in the summer are extremely high because the air conditioning units are older and can't efficiently cool the apartment. Sometimes you can't even feel comfortable in your home it's so hot. But I do have nice neighbors and other than those problems I do like living here.

While the apartments are older (built in 1972), we are making strides towards replacing all of the windows and our maintenance staff makes sure to replace any air conditioning units that need it. The breezeways do amplify any sounds so we encourage residents to not hang out in the breezeways and stairwells. Please let us know if you are having any major issues and we will do our best to find a solution!
I have a heating and cooling problem. The only room in the house that gets the heat or air is the living room. When I asked about checking the system I was informed that the vent is larger in the living room than other rooms and to buy blinds to help out. They also told me the windows were old and we lose air and heat through the windows. So, I end up spending a ton on heating and cooling.
Yes, this is a down side to the apartments being built in 1972. We are definitely working on getting the windows replaced! The up side to the apartments being built in 1972 is that they were made very spacious and the buildings are not extremely close together. Everyone can enjoy the tall trees and large lawn areas. Plus, the electricity is the only utility you have to worry about as everything else is included in your rent. Thank you for your review!
