As a recent college graduate moving to Durham from out of state, I don't think I could've picked a better place to settle into. From such a prime location, I am a 10-15 minute walk from virtually anywhere in downtown Durham--restaurants, bars, music and theatre venues, salons, boutiques, and other businesses. Furthermore, staff is always friendly, maintenance is prompt, there are more than enough parking spaces, and the pool and gym are always open and well-maintained.
The amenities are excellent and the entire property is focused around ease of use and providing security and safety to its residents. The staff is extremely helpful, prompt, and courteous.

They host great community events (with free food!), the staff is friendly, and the one maintenance request I've submitted so far was resolved in a matter of hours.
Overall a pretty good apartment. Very expensive for such a small apartment, though. You also can't live here if you can't tolerate noise. I guess Whetstone made up for it when the construction started by adding valet trash and a dog run... also, very pet friendly. Very clean (I've only ever seen bugs on the sidewalk outside). I wish that they would salt/shovel the sidewalks during snowstorms, and put mirrors or something on the blind corners in the parking garage.
