This is the best apartment location in the Baltimore metro, and the prices are the best for what you get. To boot, the staff here are amazing.
Location is reasonable distance for work and college. Landscaping: Love the grassy areas, flowers; Like building exterior and apartment. Parking spaces are wide/spacious. Recreational: Workout machines-unable to adjust them to size enough to workout etc: bikes-adjusted for long legs. Office Staff - Always pleasant.
I have lived in Westerlee Apartments for almost 9 years. My daughter and I share a 2BR/den on the 3rd floor. We have enjoyed the large closets, large bedrooms and eat in kitchen. We have felt safe coming and going at all times and I will miss Westerlee as I relocate out-of-state. I do feel my neighbors beneath me walking at times, but it is not a bother. If you are looking for a safe neighborhood and large apartments give Westerlee a chance to meet your family's needs.
Over the past three years there has been a decline in the overall cleanliness of the property. The hallways of the buildings and laundry rooms are not cleaned regularly, during the summer months the grass is not cut and maintained as timely as it use to be. My rent increases annually however after living on the property for 10 years there have been NO upgrades made to my apartment (e.g. lighting fixtures, wooden plantation blinds, countertops, bathroom vanity and lighting, kitchen appliances).
Maintenance was generally responsive when there were issues in the apartment, and the office staff was also pleasant and helpful. The biggest complaint that we had is that the grounds were not clean, and this was a consistent problem that never seemed to improve. The litter around the garbage bins, in the grassy areas and in the parking lot was an eyesore and made for an environment that did not feel or look clean.
